Artist Statement

A self-taught photographer, Lisa Doucet has been taking photos for over 50 years. She received her first SLR camera at age 11 from her photography loving father, and has been taking photos ever since.

Having moved to the Attleboro area in the mid 1980’s, Lisa ended up working in the jewelry industry as a bench jeweler for 20 years. This helped to develop her skill for looking at small things with a critical eye.

For the past 8 years, Lisa has been concentrating on nature photography. Most recently her focus has been macro photography of nature through all stages of its life.

Lisa first entered her photos in the Attleboro Arts Museum 2025 Flower Show, taking home 3rd place in the People’s Choice Awards for ‘Blown Away’.

In her own words…

“I like to share what I see when I am out in nature when I stop and really look at things closely. The intimate parts of nature that are there, but are often overlooked. Beauty is all around us in the littlest things, you just have to stop and look for it.
Lisa’s Garden is a collection of photos taken mostly in my own back yard. I take my camera out in the early morning or late afternoon to capture the small wondrous life that exists in flower gardens. Patterns in nature have always fascinated me, so I look for color, pattern, and visual impact as I am taking photos. This collection looks at small things in nature in an intimate way.”

ABOUT THE MRPAC ART GALLERY

The Marilyn Rodman Performing Arts Gallery calls for local visual artists to submit samples of their work to be showcased in a gallery setting inside the theater on a bi-monthly basis.  Our gallery is located at: 1 School Street, Foxborough, MA.

We will continue to present local artists working in a variety of mediums with curated themes and companion events featuring local performers, speakers and businesses.

Members of the public are invited to visit the gallery during upcoming ticketed events and on specific event nights designed to foster an inspirational experience while enjoying beverages from our concession area and mingling with other local creatives.  Upcoming dates will be announced  as they are finalized.

All are welcome!

Gallery events are supported in part by a grant from the Foxborough, Attleboro, Mansfield and Sharon Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
