The Burrell Elementary School Girl Scout Troop has demonstrated an early commitment to giving back to their community. The Foxborough 14U Cheerleading Team, along with coaches Jenna Pessa, Molly Gould, and Kristen Schumann, has demonstrated exceptional dedication, resilience, and teamwork for the past several years. Arnold’s Gymnastics Academy has been a part of the local community since 1996, growing from a small 3,000-square-foot facility into its current 12,000-square-foot home serving thousands of children and families. Jackie Raetz Carvalho is someone who instinctively steps up when others need help. At a graduation party, when a guest experienced three consecutive seizures, Jackie immediately took action, ensuring EMS was called and staying with the individual to help keep them alert and supported until help arrived. Robert Crowe has devoted more than 50 years of his career to serving residents in state care, currently working in the psychology department at Wrentham Developmental Center. Throughout his decades of service, Robert has consistently gone above and beyond his regular shift, often working through the night to personally train staff across all shifts, ensuring that every team member is equipped to provide the highest quality of care. His dedication stems from a deep and genuine care for the residents he serves, driving his continuous efforts to improve their quality of life. Dr. Chris Giuliano earned his A.B. in Biochemistry from Vassar College and his MD from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where he received a Class of 2000 Award in Pediatrics. He completed his residency at UMass and served as Chief Resident before joining Pediatric Specialists of Foxboro and Wrentham, where he has practiced since 2002. He has also served as an educator, teaching medical students and residents from UMass and Boston University, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UMass. He is board certified in pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and school physician for the Plainville Public Schools. Dr. Giuliano has held leadership positions with Affiliated Pediatric Practices, including Medical Director and Vice President, and maintains special interests in respiratory diseases, sports medicine, and behavioral pediatrics.
Heather Kelley serves as the Burrell School Nurse, playing a vital role in the health and well-being of students and serving as a trusted resource for both children and their families. Known for her caring nature, she goes above and beyond, often checking in on students even after hours to ensure their wellbeing. In her role, Heather is responsible for assessing and addressing students’ medical needs, managing chronic conditions, and providing first aid for injuries and illnesses. Beyond physical health, she also supports students’ mental health, offering a listening ear and steady guidance during challenging times. she collaborates closely with teachers and parents to promote a healthy school environment, educating students about health and wellness and helping implement programs that encourage healthy, active lifestyles. Her dedication reflects a deep, ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of every student in her care.
Dr. Brian Patel is Chief Medical Officer at Sturdy Health and a longtime Foxborough resident. For 20 years, he has worked to expand access to quality healthcare in the community, beginning in Sturdy’s Emergency Department before rising to his current role on the Executive Leadership Team, where he helps ensure the area has a community hospital offering state-of-the-art care. A community leader who believes in equity and access, Dr. Patel oversees health outreach programs at Councils on Aging, local schools, and other facilities, and recently staffed the Sturdy booth at Foxborough Founders Day. He also volunteers with the Kennedy Donovan Center, Community Health Systems Foundations, and the Hockomock Area YMCA. Dr. Patel lives in Foxborough with his wife and two sons — a top medical professional who never forgets it’s people he serves, not a practice to be managed, and who is, above all else, a neighbor ready to help those around him.

Their dedication and quick response helped reopen Foxborough Public Schools in just two days, while many neighboring communities remained closed for the week — a testament to the department’s commitment to exceptional public service. Beyond storm response, the DPW’s excellence spans a wide range of responsibilities across its five divisions: Administration, Highway, Tree & Park, Equipment Maintenance, and Water & Sewer. The department maintains the town’s public transportation network of roads and sidewalks, ensures stormwater compliance and permitting, and upkeeps public grounds including sports fields, common areas, and town facilities. It also maintains the town’s vehicles and equipment, including buses and police vehicles, and oversees water supply, distribution, and sewer collection. Additional services include snow and ice removal, compost site oversight, hazardous waste disposal, and engineering support for other town departments. This broad and consistent reach — from everyday infrastructure to emergency storm response — reflects a department whose steady, behind-the-scenes work keeps Foxborough running smoothly for residents and schools alike.

Bob doesn’t just attend the shows — he champions them, serving as an encouraging presence in the theatre community and a beloved neighbor who brings warmth and storytelling into daily life. His loyalty, talent, and kindness make him a staple of the local arts scene. Bob’s love for Foxborough extends well beyond the stage. The Lifeworks Theater Program provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities opportunities to explore and share their talents through musical theater. Meeting weekly at the Foxborough Community Center, the program is directed by Laura Canfield in collaboration with Lifeworks staff and community volunteers. Jill Mitchell is the owner and instructor of Reflections Dance Academy and has more than 20 years of experience as a dance educator and choreographer, with extensive training in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. A Foxboro native, she earned a degree in Dance Education from Bridgewater State University, where she performed with the Dance Company and choreographed for university productions. Her choreography has received numerous regional and national awards, and she is a member of the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Association.
Through Reflections Dance Academy, Jill has created an inclusive and supportive environment where dancers of all abilities can develop their skills, confidence, and love of dance. Jordan Bayuk is a dedicated volunteer and leader within the Foxborough Baseball Association, serving as a Board member and Director of the Friendship 8-Year-Old Baseball League. Following the sudden loss of his father, Stewart Bayuk, six years ago, Jordan stepped forward to carry on the regional league his father founded, continuing his vision of helping young players develop baseball skills while learning teamwork, character, and sportsmanship.
Jordan devotes hundreds of volunteer hours each year to making the league possible, coordinating everything from team registration and scheduling to fields, umpires, playoffs, and awards. Today, the Friendship League brings together 78 teams and more than 800 young athletes from communities across Massachusetts. Through Jordan’s extraordinary commitment, a new generation of players can learn the game, build friendships, and experience the same sense of community and love of baseball that Jordan and his brother experienced through the league their father created.

Emma Brelsford is a valued contributor to children’s programming at Boyden Library, creating engaging opportunities that encourage children and families to read, explore, learn, and connect with their community. Her creative approach extends learning beyond the library by connecting books and literacy with nature, outdoor exploration, local events, and familiar places throughout Foxborough. Through these experiences, Emma brings together children, parents, caregivers, grandparents, and friends to discover new ideas and enjoy learning together. Her work fosters curiosity, a love of reading, and a meaningful connection between families and their community.
Mike Curran is a dedicated Foxboro Youth Baseball and middle school hockey coach committed to developing young athletes on and off the field and ice. His coaching approach goes beyond teaching the fundamentals of the game, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, character, and personal growth. Mike creates an inclusive and supportive environment where athletes feel welcomed, encouraged, and challenged to develop their abilities and reach their full potential. By measuring success not simply through wins and losses but through the growth of the young people he coaches, Mike has made a meaningful and lasting contribution to Foxboro’s youth sports community.
Jan Donaway is a dedicated advocate for inclusion and community engagement with a longstanding commitment to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. During her years as a teacher’s aide in the special education program at Foxborough High School, she created opportunities for students to engage with the broader community, including experiences at Sunlight Farm and through the Hockomock YMCA.
Following her retirement, Jan continued her service as a volunteer with the Hockomock YMCA’s Integration Program, helping create, supervise, and support events and activities for participants. Her commitment extends beyond organized programming; for years, Jan has welcomed program participants and their families into her own home for backyard gatherings, building friendships and a genuine sense of community. Through her generosity, compassion, and dedication to others, Jan has helped individuals and families feel welcomed, supported, and included.
Karen Dugan is a dedicated mentor and valued member of the Boyden Library community, known for her thoughtful guidance, encouragement, and ability to inspire others to recognize their own strengths and potential. Through her work in the children’s section, she fosters curiosity and a love of learning by connecting patrons with books, authors, and new ideas while creating a welcoming and supportive environment for people of all ages. Beyond encouraging readers, Karen takes a genuine interest in others’ aspirations, offering thoughtful support that can inspire individuals to pursue creative and personal goals, including writing and publication. Her quiet leadership, patience, and compassion have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the community.
Jen Lippolis is a dedicated coach, mentor, and parent who has made a meaningful impact on the young people she supports. Through positive leadership, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to helping athletes learn and grow, Jen creates an environment where individuals feel supported, challenged, and confident in their abilities. Her influence extends beyond developing athletic skills, as she helps young people build confidence, perseverance, and a belief in their own potential. The strong connections she forms with those she coaches reflect the lasting impression she makes as both a mentor and role model within the community.
Chelsea McCue is a dedicated community volunteer who balances an accomplished career as a Chief People Officer with an extensive commitment to serving others. She generously gives her time and energy to local schools, community organizations, and neighbors in need, consistently stepping forward wherever she can make a difference. Known for leading by example, Chelsea brings the same spirit of compassion, kindness, humility, and integrity to her community involvement, while encouraging others to become involved as well. John Rice is a highly respected youth athletics coach in Foxboro known for his dedication to developing young athletes both on and off the field. His coaching approach combines encouragement with constructive feedback, using clear communication and objective information to promote fairness and help athletes understand how they can improve. John emphasizes teamwork, accountability, sportsmanship, and good behavior while creating an environment where athletes feel valued and supported. Through his commitment to mentorship and personal growth, he helps young athletes build confidence, strengthen their skills, and understand what it means to be a positive member of a team.
Justin Zupanick is an Education Assistant at Ahern Middle School whose dedication to students extends beyond academic support. Through the meaningful relationships he builds with the students he works with, Justin provides consistent guidance, encouragement, and mentorship and serves as a trusted role model. His ability to recognize students’ potential and support them over time has helped them build confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve goals they once thought were beyond their reach. His compassion and commitment to student growth have made him a valued member of the Ahern Middle School community.
For nearly two decades, Tiffany has dedicated her career to improving the lives of others. She spent 14 years as a community retail pharmacist, becoming the trusted professional people turned to with questions they were afraid to ask anyone else — celebrating victories, offering comfort through difficult diagnoses, and often recognizing health concerns before anyone else did. Today, as a clinical pharmacist specializing in Medication Therapy Management, she works with medically complex patients navigating polypharmacy and chronic disease. As a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, she empowers patients to manage their diabetes with compassion and education, believing that great healthcare means listening and meeting patients where they are. Beyond her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, she holds advanced certifications in diabetes care, immunizations, cardiovascular care, and veterinary pharmacy — bringing the same expertise to every patient, human or animal. What makes Tiffany truly exceptional is who she is when no one is watching: the first person family, friends, and neighbors call with a healthcare question, always ready to help someone understand a diagnosis, interpret lab results, or simply feel reassured. In a healthcare landscape that can feel rushed and impersonal, Tiffany reminds people that compassion is still one of the most powerful forms of medicine — devoting her career, and her life, to helping others feel seen, heard, and cared for.
Union Straw is being recognized for its incredible commitment of giving back to the Foxborough community. From supporting town sports to local nonprofits to generously supporting the theater, Union Straw is always willing to step up — offering their space, donations, resources, and time to help local organizations thrive. Their connection to Foxborough is evident even in the name they chose for their restaurant. Rather than choosing something generic, they selected Union Straw as a tribute to the historic Union Straw Works, honoring an important piece of Foxborough’s history and reflecting the pride they take in being part of this community. Union Straw has also been a major force in shaping Uptown Foxborough into what it is today, helping bring energy, liveliness, walkability, and fun back to the center of town and creating a place where people want to gather, connect, and support local businesses. As one of the first new and exciting businesses in the area, Union Straw helped kick off a broader renaissance in town. Their generosity extends far beyond their own doors, and their commitment to Foxborough — its history, its organizations, and its people — truly embodies the spirit of the award.

rilled to announce Dianne Weinfeld as the recipient of this year’s Marilyn Rodman Legacy Award.
Dianne Weinfeld is a lifelong Foxborough resident whose roots in the community have shaped both her personal and professional life. A graduate of Foxborough High School, she left home in 1972 to attend Babson College, where she was a member of only the second class of women admitted to the school. She graduated in just two years, finishing second in her class, before beginning a career in healthcare technology, helping hospitals and physician practices implement software and hardware systems in the Boston and Philadelphia areas.
While living in Philadelphia, Dianne met her husband, Kevin Weinfeld. In 1989, the couple returned to Foxborough to join Mayfair Realty & Development, the family business founded by Dianne’s parents, Alex and Sonja Spier. Together, they became second-generation owners and have continued the company’s tradition of providing quality housing while fostering a strong sense of community among residents and staff. Mayfair recently celebrated its 65th anniversary, a milestone that reflects the family’s long-standing commitment to excellence and service.
Dianne’s parents instilled in her the belief that success carries with it a responsibility to give back. Guided by that philosophy, she has dedicated countless hours to community service, serving as Chair of the Boyden Library Board of Trustees, Chair of Foxborough Human Services, President of the Foxborough Monday Club, a founding member of FACTS (Foxborough Action Committee for Topnotch Schools), a member of the Stoeckle Advisory Committee at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a member of the Board of Directors of Temple Israel in Sharon. Throughout these roles, she has worked to strengthen educational, cultural, and social opportunities within the community she has always called home.
Together, Dianne and Kevin devote their time, talents, and resources to organizations that improve the quality of life for others. They are proud supporters of many local nonprofits and institutions, including the Foxborough Hockomock YMCA, the Foxborough Discretionary Fund, ConfiKids, Massachusetts General Hospital, and organizations that enrich the arts, including the Marilyn Rodman Performing Arts Center and the Mansfield Arts Center. Most recently, Dianne chaired Strive to Thrive, a fundraising initiative supporting cancer survivorship. Working alongside an exceptional volunteer committee and partners from Mass General Brigham and the MRPAC, the campaign raised approximately $185,000 to advance survivorship programs.
Whether through her leadership at Mayfair Realty & Development or her many volunteer efforts, Dianne remains inspired by the example set by her parents and their enduring belief in leaving the world a better place than they found it. She is grateful to live and work in Foxborough, where she and Kevin continue to invest in the community they love while carrying forward a family legacy built on integrity, service, and compassion.
